The Moon and Sea

The sea,
beneath the moon's tutelage,
waits patiently each night.

Clear as a pane of glass,
clouded only by persistent crashing,
constant movement,
blood,
sweat,
sand.

The sea,
beneath the moon's tutelage,
waits patiently each night.

And the moon rises just for the sea.
Reaching down with a silver spoon,
stirring the tides in a rhythmic dance.

The sea,
beneath the moon's tutelage,
waits patiently each night.
And the moon rises just for the sea.

Just as I waited patiently for you,
And you rose just for me.
