covid-19 safety.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am following national and Centers for Disease Control reopening guidelines as I resume accepting photography clients. At this time, I am only booking shoots that can be done outdoors with no more than 10 people present (including me). All consultations will take place on the phone via call or text. When working with you, I will wear PPE (personal protective equipment), practice social distancing, and use no-touch pose methods. In addition, I am disinfecting all of my equipment after seeing each client. I believe this to be a safe way to reopen my photography business while contributing to emotional and financial healing in my community as we move toward a post-COVID-19 world.

black lives

matter support.

In the wake of the murder of George Floyd and the resulting demonstrations against racial injustice and police brutality, I am donating 5% of the profits from each photography session to show my support for the Black Lives Matter movement and the abolition of the prison industrial complex. All donations will be directed to the Colorado Freedom Fund, a non-profit that “pays ransom (posts money bond, pays cash bail) for people unable to afford the cost of buying their own freedom” (https://fundly.com/coloradofreedom).

Racism was invented as an economic, political, and ideological system by the most powerful and was then infused into our laws and social interactions. Racist systems can be rewritten to promote substantive healing in alignment with community values. To achieve this, it is essential for individuals and collectives to play active roles as leaders in antiracism and abolitionist work.

My Story.

I began working as a freelance photographer in 2016 after capturing my friends to celebrate their beauty and bodies. After receiving an overwhelming demand to do so, I decided to market my freelance photography services. I am grateful to have been hired for work as a portrait, lifestyle, commercial, editorial, band, birth, and wedding photographer.

If you are interested in booking me, you can explore my specialties and rates below, along with a portfolio of some of my previous work and client testimonials.

client

testimonials.

the topic of conversation between annabelle and i while working intimately on this project was the feeling of being enough. as women, we often times don’t praise ourselves on being smart or kind or bold. i’ve spent so much of my time worrying that if i’m not beautiful or perfect or done up, i won’t be enough. i’ve starved myself to try and fit into a body type that i will never have. i’ve grown so accustomed to looking in the mirror and picking apart everything i hate about myself, wishing things were smaller, bigger, longer, thinner, just different. i want to change that mindset and i want to help other women change their mindset too. when did it become cool to hate ourselves? thank you, sweet annabelle for bringing out the witchy wild huckleberry finn fairy queen in me. if someone asked me a year ago to run around naked in the woods sans makeup with a bunch of wild giggly girls, my answer would be very different than it is today.

i am closed off from others the majority of the time. i seem to create an unintentional barrier between myself and others in my everyday life. this is exhausting and prevents me from making authentic connections. this photography shoot went hand in hand with my goal of vulnerability. this is me. flaws, scars, naked. i love myself unconditionally. i want to be open and vulnerable to others to help spread this type of self-loving. i had the pleasure of working with a group of wonderful, inspiring women, witchy powers and all! thank you annabelle for these raw and real images and a magical experience.

may sound weird but this is one of my favorite photos ever taken of myself. taken by the unparalleled annabelle fern who, with her energy and grace, allowed me to cut loose and get comfortable with being uncomfortable in front of a camera. annabelle also inspired me to start writing and journaling again, which has been therapeutic and wonderful. check out her page if you feel so inclined, but be prepared to be lost in the magic she makes with her written words and her photos. i have a giant girl crush, in case you couldn’t tell.
