Overview

The “I” Rewritten is a guided workshop exploring how personal experience transforms through language. Participants are invited to reimagine the story of the “I”—their lived experience, voice, and perspective—through creative prompts and shared reflection. Each session serves as a quiet service for the imagination: a space of pause, presence, and creative witnessing. Together, we explore how to express truth beyond the limits of linear narrative, cultivating work that feels honest, embodied, and alive.

No prior workshop or academic experience is required. Whether you write for personal healing, artistic craft, or both, you’ll find a supportive space to create.

Workshop Format

Welcome–A brief moment to arrive together in quiet focus.
Guided Prompts–Thoughtfully designed exercises to help you see your story in new ways.
Writing Time–45 minutes of uninterrupted space to write.
Optional Share-Back–Opportunities to read aloud and listen to others’ work.
Reflection–A few moments to gather what emerged before parting.

Access & Care

Live captions available via Zoom.
No recordings are made to honor privacy.
Camera off and quiet participation are always welcome.
Sliding scale and no-cost seats available through the Community Care Initiative.

Facilitator

Led by Annabelle Fern Praznik, MFA—poet, educator, and editor with a background in university teaching and a specialization in speculative poetics and hybrid forms. Her work lives at the intersection of recovery, voice, and artistic innovation.
